Muslim Community of Gaoua Celebrates Eid al-Fitr Promoting Peace and Cohesion

Gaoua: The Muslim community of Gaoua performed the Eid al-Fitr prayer on Friday at the Place de la R©volution in Gaoua, led by Imam El Hadj Salam Sissako. The event was held in a spirit of peace, solidarity, and unity, with regional, administrative, and military authorities, as well as religious and traditional leaders, in attendance.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Imam El Hadj Salam Sissako expressed his gratitude to the Lord for the blessings during Ramadan in his sermon. He prayed for peace in Burkina Faso, the protection of the population, and the forces engaged in securing the territory. Imam Sissako also asked God to grant wisdom and foresight to the country's authorities, especially President Ibrahim Traor©, to lead the nation toward stability and peace.

Following the prayer, Siaka Barro, the governor of the Djoro region, commended the Muslim community for promoting social cohesion, interreligious dialogue, and unity during Ramadan. Barro expressed gratitude for the community's efforts toward peace and cohesion, emphasizing the importance of prayers for the stability and security of Burkina Faso and urging solidarity behind national authorities.

Governor Barro reaffirmed the administration's commitment to supporting all religious denominations, highlighting their critical role in conflict resolution and strengthening the social fabric. He stated that every citizen's contribution is vital for building a stable and prosperous Burkina Faso, asserting that unity is key to overcoming challenges.

The ceremony reflected the commitment of the people of Gaoua to the values of solidarity, tolerance, and peace, taking place in an atmosphere of religious fervor and communal harmony.
