Tougan: Muslim worshipers in the city of Tougan gathered at the city’s grand mosque to perform the Eid al-Adha prayer, with hopes for peace and stability in the Sourou province. The prayer session saw a large turnout of the faithful, including key figures such as the High Commissioner of the Sourou province, Désiré Badolo, and the president of the special delegation of Tougan, Ouigou Tiendrébéogo, along with several administrative and military authorities.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Imam El Hadj Mohamad Traoré led the prayer, emphasizing the significance of Eid al-Adha as a festival that commemorates the Prophet Ibrahim’s submission to God. The imam highlighted that this year’s prayers in Tougan primarily focused on the aspiration for the return of peace and security to the province.

Imam Traoré expressed hope that through prayers and the efforts of the defense and security forces, the province would soon experience peace and security, allowing residents to return to their villages. Ibrahim Pa
ré, a devout Muslim, echoed this sentiment, praying for the complete reconquest of the Sourou region and the restoration of peace and security.

Post-prayer, High Commissioner Désiré Badolo emphasized the administration’s solidarity with the Muslim community and other religious groups, highlighting unity and cohesion within the country. He extended Eid al-Adha greetings to all Muslims in the province and encouraged celebrations in sobriety, urging prayers for the defense and security forces and volunteers committed to protecting the homeland.
