Kampti: The Muslim faithful of Kampti, like other Muslims in the country, celebrated the Tabaski festival, also known as Aid El Kabir, on the grounds of the Kampti A and B center schools. The celebration was marked by a strong emphasis on social cohesion and unity, aiming for lasting peace in Faso.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the imam of the great mosque of Kampti, Bamoussa OUATTARA, delivered a sermon urging worshippers to remain faithful to the precepts of Islam, drawing inspiration from the prophet Abraham as a symbol of submission to divine will. He also offered prayers for the return of enduring peace to Faso.
The President of the Special Delegation of Kampti, Massahiba Aim© Soulama, attended the prayers with his close collaborators. He conveyed a message of peace, social cohesion, and peaceful inter-religious coexistence from the regional authorities of the South-West to the Muslim faithful. Mr. Soulama expressed hope that the prayers would support the defense and security forces (FDS) and the volunteers for the defense of the homeland (VDP) engaged in efforts to reclaim the national territory.
He further encouraged every Muslim faithful to observe the Tabaski festival with restraint and sobriety.
