Nahouri’s Retro Evening Revives Po with 1970s and 1980s Nostalgia

Ouagadougou: The town of Po vibrated to the rhythm of the first edition of the "Retro Evening" on Saturday, July 11, 2026. Initiated by Pascaline Naguiabou, this unique event revived, for one day, the sartorial elegance and musical richness of the 1970s and 1980s.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was chaired by the High Commissioner of the Nahouri province, Sie Aristide Mohamed Kam, and sponsored by the customs declarant, Bouba Lingani. The cultural gathering successfully mobilized the community and was widely praised by participants.

By blending musical nostalgia, period fashion shows, and exhibitions of antique objects, the "Retro Evening" offered the inhabitants of Po a total immersion in the daily life of their elders. The event promoter, Pascaline Naguiabou, expressed satisfaction with the successful mobilization and organization, highlighting the enthusiasm of participants as proof of the project's success.

Naguiabou emphasized that the event was more than just entertainment; it was a crucial means of heritage transmission. She noted that the melodies of the 1980s brought emotional smiles to the older generation and sparked curiosity in the younger ones.

The High Commissioner of Nahouri acknowledged the initiative's relevance, describing it as an opportunity to rekindle professional, personal, and cultural memories that are sometimes buried.
