Nakambe: The Nakambe Regional Customs Directorate hosted the traditional raising of the national flag ceremony, overseen by Regional Governor Yiye Abraham Somdo, emphasizing a call for increased civic engagement and responsibility in public service.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event gathered regional directors, service heads, Defense and Security Forces, citizen watch members, distinguished craftsmen of 2025, and staff from the Regional Customs Directorate, underscoring its importance. Mr. Alidou Ouedraogo, the regional director of customs, outlined the directorate's mission to enforce customs laws, collect duties and taxes, and combat fraud within its jurisdiction.

Governor Somdo highlighted the national flag as a symbol of the state's unity and sovereignty, calling on citizens to uphold republican values for resilience and stability. He echoed the Prime Minister's directives following the President of Faso's national message, focusing on bolstering national solidarity, social protection, and public staff commitment.

He urged careful collaboration with NGOs and development partners to safeguard national dignity and ensure impactful actions for the population's living conditions. Addressing civic guidance in schools, Mr. Somdo criticized attendance lapses and urged school leaders to uphold educational responsibilities.

Boukare Zabsonre, regional director of Humanitarian Action and Family, reported contributions totaling 156,579,563 CFA francs from the deme sira campaign, praising the involvement of local employers and entrepreneurs. Captain Abdoul Fatah Sawadogo of the Faso Mebo agency in Tenkodogo highlighted received donations and requested support to enhance public awareness.

Governor Somdo congratulated the region's artisans honored in 2025, encouraging them to strive for excellence in 2026. The ceremony ended with encouragement for regional stakeholders to continue their developmental and national sovereignty missions with dedication and patriotism.
