Namentenga: 125 plants planted during the 6th national tree day

Ouagadougou: 125 plants were planted on Saturday July 20, 2024, within the premises of the Provincial Directorate of Preschool, Primary and Non-Formal Education (DPEPPNF) of Boulsa by the provincial authorities, on the occasion of the 6th National Tree Day. This planting ceremony was chaired by the High Commissioner of Namentenga, Adama Conseiga.It is the premises of the Provincial Directorate of Preschool, Primary and Non-Formal Education (DPEPPNF) of Boulsa which hosted the solemn tree planting ceremony, on the occasion of the 6th edition of the National Day of the tree (JNA).125 plants of nine species were planted and protected with grids by the structures present at the ceremony. Another 100 were given to civil society organizations and fenced services.During the ceremony, the provincial director in charge of the Environment, Abdoulaye Ouédraogo described the operating principles of the tree.According to him, the extreme heat this year led to a decline in the production of non-woody forest specie s, hence the need to replenish our environment by planting trees for the survival of humanity.The high commissioner of the province of Namentenga, Adama Conseiga called on the population to implement some slogans "a school, a grove, I regreen my place of worship, let's regreen the space of our monuments" for the preservation of environment.Mr. Conseiga also maintained that this will contribute to achieving the desired objective which is to plant useful crops.Source: Burkina Information Agency
