Namentenga: An Association in Tougouri Supports 32 Orphans with School Scholarships Worth Over 700,000 FCFA

Namentenga: The Teel Taaba association of Tougouri handed out school scholarships worth more than 720,000 FCFA to 32 orphans of Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) who fell on the battlefield, as well as to other vulnerable children.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the scholarship award ceremony was presided over by the head of the basic education district (CCEB) of Tougouri, Adama Pare. The project manager for the Teel Taaba association, Roland Yameogo, stated that this initiative is a way for the association to contribute to the peace effort in Burkina Faso.

On behalf of the association's president, Amed Kafando, Mr. Yameogo recalled that in 2025, the same target group had already benefited from similar support from the association. He also mentioned that the widows of fallen VDP members received training in income-generating activities of their choice, as well as support for their settlement.

Presiding over the ceremony, CCEB Adama Pare praised the association's support, which contributes to the academic success of vulnerable children. On behalf of the municipal and provincial hierarchy as well as the beneficiaries, he congratulated the beneficial work of the Teel Taaba association, highlighting that this is not its first action of this kind.
