Ouagadougou: Teachers from the seven Basic Education Districts (CEB) out of the nine in the province of Namentenga, closed their annual educational conference on Friday, September 13, 2024 in Boulsa. At the end of the work, they appropriated the elementary school curricula for their implementation.4 days later, the participants, who are the teachers of the elementary school classes (CE), said they were better equipped to tackle the 2024-2025 school year.The major recommendation concerned human and material support to succeed in the State's challenge in curricular innovations.The curricula and the plural of curriculum in Latin are defined according to the head of CEB Boulsa 1, Charles Zongo as being "A course of initial or continuing training whose objectives, programs as well as the methods of learning and assessment of acquired skills are designed as a coherent whole"Regarding implementation in the classrooms, Nomam Kafando and Wo Traoré presented grammar and mathematics lessons to their colleagues u sing the integrative approach (API) with the students.These lessons allowed other teachers/observers to discuss, in particular, the API's educational approach."The API is an approach that gives meaning to education. This approach allows the student to acquire by himself the knowledge essential to his socialization," indicated the inspector of CEB Boulsa1, Koudougou Rasmané Zongo.During discussions with the commanders of the Phantom and Cheetah military units, teachers were ordered to open all schools in the resettled villages this year.According to the speakers, the support of the State in material and human resources will make it possible to succeed in the challenge of the innovations undertaken.Satisfied with the smooth running of the conference, the provincial director in charge of preschool, primary and non-formal education of Namentenga, Ouiraogo Bernard Kaboré thanked the provincial authorities and education partners for their support to the education sector.Mr. Kaboré also took the opportun ity to congratulate the teachers and supervisors for the quality of the results they achieved.'A good and fruitful start to the 2024-2025 school year to all,' he concluded.Source: Burkina Information Agency
