Namentenga/Day of Customs and Traditions: The Traditional Chief of Boulsa Implores the Spirits of the Ancestors for Peace

Namentenga: The traditional and customary chief of the canton of Boulsa, His Majesty Naaba Sonr©, called upon the spirits of the ancestors to bring peace to Burkina Faso. This invocation took place on Thursday, May 15, 2026, during the 3rd edition of the day of customs and traditions.

According to Burkina Information Agency, in the evening, the notables of the canton chief made their way to Tanyill©, the sacred hill of Boulsa, to conduct the traditional rituals of the ceremony. The priest, representing the canton chief, sought the favor of the ancestral spirits to secure peace, happiness, and prosperity for the canton.

Several artistic troupes participated in the event, adding to the day's significance in the courtyard of the traditional chief. The performances included the Kiagba dance troupe, the Wanrougdo troupe, and a group of mask performers.
