Namentenga: The 3rd edition of Heritage Month, under the theme "Cultural Heritage and Economic Development", was celebrated on Friday, April 18, 2025, in Boulsa (Centre-North), in a sober manner. The High Commissioner of Namentenga Province, Adama Conseiga, delivered the message of the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, before the heads of service and combat forces, marking the launch of the 3rd edition of Burkinabe Heritage Month.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Mr. Conseiga highlighted the importance of the event, urging traditional and customary leaders, youth, cultural, tourism, and economic stakeholders to actively participate in fulfilling the event's objectives. He emphasized the need to leverage traditions, beliefs, and creations as resources for community development and well-being.
The Head of State's message underscored that nations achieve greatness by building upon their cultural foundations. The lack of an adequate framework for artistic and cultural expression in Namentenga, particularly in Boulsa, was noted. Antoine Ou©draogo, a cultural facilitator in Boulsa, expressed hope for the rehabilitation or transformation of the dilapidated cinema hall into a cultural center.
Adama Conseiga expressed gratitude to all participants for their active presence at the Heritage Month ceremony, reinforcing the significance of cultural preservation and economic development through heritage.
