Namentenga/ussu-bf: The High Commissioner of the province of Namentenga, Adama Conseiga, presided over a meeting in Boulsa to review the previous edition of the USSU-BF and formally present prizes to the winners.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event took place on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, and was attended by key figures, including the provincial director of Sports and Recreation for Namentenga, Pengdwende Joseph Sawadogo. Sawadogo highlighted that the athletes' ambition for the current season is "Touk guilli," a local term describing a specific kind of competition.
The results for the Namentenga province at the 2024-2025 USSU-BF competitions were notable. In the Koulse region, for team sports, 11 out of 18 places achieved first place, with 2 securing second place. In individual sports, 13 out of 26 places achieved first place, and 11 secured second place. In African wrestling, 5 out of 6 places achieved first place, while one secured second place.
Athletes pointed out that addressing challenges related to sports and sanitary equipment, transportation quality, catering, and accommodation during competitions in Kaya, as well as adherence to the school schedule, is crucial. Resolving these issues would enable the province to achieve "Touk guilli," aiming for first and second places across all team and individual sports, including African wrestling for girls and boys in the U15, U17, and U20 age groups.
High Commissioner Adama Conseiga congratulated the winners and commended the coaches for their commitment and quality training. He encouraged students to register in large numbers for the various disciplines to enhance their chances of success.
