Ouagadougou: The review meeting of the activities of the International Youth Day (IYD) held on August 12 and 13, 2024 with the provincial organizing committee was deemed satisfactory. It was chaired by the provincial director of youth, vocational training and employment, Patrick Batiéno on Thursday, August 29, 2024 in Boulsa.'Citizen monitoring and the fight against insecurity in Burkina Faso' is the theme of the International Youth Day (IYD) held on August 12 and 13, 2024 in Boulsa, in the Center-North region.The meeting of the provincial directorate in charge of youth with the organizing committee on the assessment of the day's activities revealed that the support of the high commissioner, Adama Conseiga and development partners contributed to the success of the event.Issues relating to social cohesion, family life education and entrepreneurship were respectively led by the provincial director of youth, vocational training and employment Patrick Batiéno, the commander of the "Guépard" unit and the pro vincial director of sports and leisure, Moussa Ilboudo.Seizing the opportunity, the young people planted a hundred seedlings in the courtyard of their center under construction in sector no. 1 of Boulsa. The evening of August 13, 2024 was devoted to aerobics activities.According to the president of the provincial youth council and that of the commune of Boulsa, Wendyam Lucien Ima and Jean Paul Sawadogo, the JIJ program was successfully carried out while deploring the low representation of young people from areas with high security challenges and the coincidence of the day with the holding of the competitions.They also thanked the partners for their support and their comrades for their participation in the activities, before inviting them to more patriotism, dynamism and commitment to peace. Mr. Batiéno also expressed his satisfaction with the atmosphere in which the programme took place.He hoped that the themes developed during the two days will produce the desired effects in the short and medium term for more social cohesion, patriotic commitment and dynamism for the happiness of young people and all citizens.Source: Burkina Information Agency
