Nando: The New Regional Directorate of the National Police Inaugurated in Koudougou

Koudougou: The Minister of Security, Mahamadou Sana, officially inaugurated the new headquarters of the Regional Directorate of the National Police (DRPN) of Nando in Koudougou. The state financed this project with an investment of over 591 million FCFA to enhance the operational capabilities of the National Police and improve regional security.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the inauguration ceremony began with blessings from traditional leaders, represented by Chief Naaba Baongo of Dapoya, followed by a welcome address from Amde Par, President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of Koudougou. Divisional Police Commissioner Aim Salvador Bougouma, Regional Director of the National Police in Nando, praised the authorities and partners for their commitment to the project's completion. He emphasized the importance of rigor, discipline, and exemplary conduct among his staff, urging them to remain connected to the community.

Director General of the National Police, Thierry Dofizouho Tuina, highlighted the sacrifices made by the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP). He described the new DRPN as a significant tool for enhancing operational capabilities and community policing. Tuina noted that the consolidation of regional services should lead to improved coordination in addressing security threats.

The administrative building, funded entirely by the state budget, exceeded 591 million FCFA in costs. Emmanuel Tapsoba, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Green Hand and sponsor of the ceremony, financed the perimeter fence. In his speech, Tapsoba lauded the security forces and encouraged economic actors and citizens to support public infrastructure development. Responding to this call, the Nando business association, represented by Razang Naaba Poulma Noogo, committed to paving the DRPN courtyard.

Minister Mahamadou Sana acknowledged the support of Nando's citizens for security initiatives, aligning with the vision of Burkina Faso's President, Captain Ibrahim Traor. The first pillar of the 2026-2030 Recovery Plan prioritizes strengthening security, peace, and social cohesion. Sana urged the police to deliver tangible results, focusing on crime reduction and security threat mitigation, while maintaining the infrastructure.

The ceremony concluded with the symbolic ribbon-cutting and unveiling of the inaugural plaque, officially opening the new DRPN in Nando, accompanied by a tree-planting event.
