Nanoro: The Association for Rural Development of Nanoro (ADRN) officially launched its activities this Saturday, during a strategic general assembly organized at the multipurpose hall of the Brothers of the Holy Family. Between assessments, future prospects, and social cohesion, the association has ambitious goals for the well-being of the community. The agenda was particularly full: review of the moral and financial reports for the 2025 fiscal year, establishment of specialized committees, adoption of the 2026 action plan, and official launch of the organization's activities.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the ADRN's objective is clear: to boost local socio-economic development and manage structuring projects for the municipality. To mark the occasion, the ADRN proposed a diverse program alongside the works. Health and well-being were prioritized with a morning aerobics session to energize participants, followed by the distribution of hygiene kits to the CMA and the CMU to support the cleanliness of local health centers.
In the spirit of sport and cohesion, a Razball match, a source of national sporting pride, saw the students emerge victorious over the civil servants in a festive atmosphere. The tradition was honored with the symbolic handing over of the "torch of development" to the representative of His Majesty Naaba Karfo of Nanoro.
"This general assembly fulfills a duty of accountability. The handing over of the torch to the board and the sections proves that the development of Nanoro is deeply important to us," emphasized Dr. Georges K. Soudouem, gynecologist and president of ADRN. Explaining the choice of Razball, he stressed the importance of promoting this 100% Burkinabe sport to create emulation, bring youth together and strengthen social cohesion.
The president also made a passionate appeal for massive membership, reiterating that ADRN aims to be an inclusive umbrella organization. He concluded by thanking His Majesty Naaba Karfo, the initiator of this associative renewal, as well as the administrative authorities for their unwavering daily support.
Zakaria Bandaogo, the event's guest of honor and inventor and promoter of Razball (officially launched in July 2021 in Bobo-Dioulasso), enthusiastically shared his vision. His ambition is to ensure that all Burkinab¨ embrace this discipline, codified in national languages, a symbol of local expertise. Mr. Bandaogo reassured athletes and enthusiasts in Nanoro: a technical team is already in place to train and support anyone wishing to organize competitions. His closing message served as a rallying cry: "Get involved, because the most opportunities lie in new ventures."
