Leraba: The Sindou Basic Education District (CEB) marked the national awareness and civic mobilization campaign, "Deme Siira," on Monday, November 17, 2025, by organizing a synchronized raising of the national flag in its schools. Emmanuel Sourabie, the head of the CEB, visited the schools to show his support for education professionals and students.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the CEB of Sindou, in alignment with other districts across the country, responded to a call from the Ministry in charge of Humanitarian Action. The initiative involved the solemn raising of the national colors in schools, as part of the implementation of "Deme Siira," which translates to the voice of solidarity.
Under the theme "Solidarity, our common strength," the campaign was designed to promote values of solidarity, patriotism, mutual aid, and social cohesion among the younger generations by incorporating the raising of the national flag into school activities.
In Sindou, Emmanuel Sourabie took part in the flag-raising ceremony at the ''C'' center school, where students sang the ditanye in the national language. He also visited the Sindoukorony school, located 7 km from Sindou, to lend his support to teachers and students as they discussed the importance of solidarity, mutual aid, and living together.
The day's activities concluded with participatory discussions led by teachers in classrooms, focusing on the campaign's theme. Emmanuel Sourabie emphasized the need for collective support to the authorities in their efforts to realize national sovereignty.
The campaign's significance continues with a torch relay event scheduled for November 19, 2025, in the Tannounyan region's Banfora.
