National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Civic Participation Marked by Popular Health Initiative

Ouagadougou: The Minister of State, Minister of Territorial Administration and Mobility, Mr. Emile ZERBO, chaired a day of popular health on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at the foot of the Martyrs' Monument "Never Again" in district No. 3 of the city of Ouagadougou. He was accompanied by the Minister Delegate in charge of Regional Cooperation, Mrs. Stella Eldine KABRE/KABORE, along with numerous collaborators and a highly mobilized population.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this event is part of the 2nd edition of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation (JEPPC), aimed at promoting civic engagement and collective responsibility among all Burkinab¨ to ensure a healthier living environment and a cleaner environment.

Minister of State Emile ZERBO highlighted the symbolic choice of the site for this sanitation operation. "We are at the Martyrs' Monument 'Never Again' and that would mean that we all agree that there will never again be garbage in these places. If we come back here next time and see garbage, we will punish it. I therefore invite everyone to assimilate the 'Never Again' message," he emphasized.

He expressed his gratitude to all stakeholders and participants who contributed to the success of the event. He urged all Burkinabe to maintain a clean environment, not only during the JEPPC but also on a daily basis.

The President of the special delegation of the third district of the city of Ouagadougou, Mr. Christophe Kabore, praised the exceptional mobilization of the population. He emphasized that such participation marks a significant step in the fight against insalubrity. "We positively appreciate this strong mobilization of the population. It shows that the fight against insalubrity has become everyone's business. Based on this observation, the third district and the city of Ouagadougou will now be cleaner," he stated.

Following the activities at the Martyrs' Monument "Never Again" in the Tampouy district, Minister of State Emile ZERBO extended the sanitation operation to other areas of the capital, notably in district no. 12 at the foot of the Ouaga 2000 interchange.

The first phase of the 2nd edition of the JEPPC 2025 spans from March 26 to April 9, under the theme: "For order and discipline: I'm committed!"
