Ouagadougou: The province of Nayala officially launched, on Tuesday in Toma, the 2026 session of the compulsory patriotic immersion intended for new holders of the baccalaureate. The High Commissioner of the province, Comrade Honor Frdric Par, officiated the launch at the Nayala Provincial High School, marking the beginning of the program for 348 new graduates from the 2026 session and eight from 2025 who missed the previous edition.

According to Burkina Information Agency, a total of 348 conscripts, consisting of 162 boys and 186 girls from the 2026 session, along with eight 2025 graduates, will engage in this civic, patriotic, and citizenship training scheduled to conclude on August 26, 2026. The ceremony was attended by constituted bodies, Defense and Security Forces, administrative, customary, religious authorities, and the parents of the conscripts.

During the event, the graduates, adorned in national colors, sang the national anthem following military commands, imparting a solemn tone to the occasion. High Commissioner Par highlighted that the initiative tackles the security, social, and economic challenges facing Burkina Faso. He stated that the immersion program is designed to nurture honest, responsible, and committed citizens dedicated to national service.

He also called upon the supervisors to uphold rigor, professionalism, and pedagogy to ensure the program's success. Comrade Idrissa Roko, the provincial director of Secondary Education, reiterated that obtaining the baccalaureate signifies entry into active civic life, and the IPO (Professional Integration Program) seeks to instill values of discipline, solidarity, duty, and patriotism in the youth.

The ceremony concluded with a tree planting on the school grounds, followed by a photo session with the conscripts, symbolizing a collective commitment to fostering a patriotic and resilient youth dedicated to serving Burkina Faso.
