Nazinon: The Nazinon Regional Government held an official ceremony on Saturday at Place de la Nation in Manga to award certificates to 200 young people trained in heavy equipment operation. This initiative aims to enhance their employability in the mining, public works, and major infrastructure projects sectors. The ceremony was presided over by the High Commissioner of Zoundweogo Province, Julien Ouedraogo, representing the Governor.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Governor's representative hailed a significant milestone in the lives of the beneficiaries who demonstrated commitment, perseverance, and passion throughout their training. Quoting Professor Joseph Ki-Zerbo, he recalled that "a society that fails to take care of its youth buries its own future," stressing that investment in vocational training is part of the dynamic of state refounding initiated by the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore.
The training involved eighty young beneficiaries of scholarships for obtaining the category C license coupled with the driving of heavy machinery, as well as one hundred and twenty others already holding the C license, trained in the handling of five types of machinery: the tipper, the bulldozer, the loader, the dumper, and the excavator. The recruitment, deemed inclusive, made it possible to train 104 young people in the province of Zoundweogo, 56 in Baz¨ga, and 40 in Nahouri, with a balanced distribution between the different beneficiary municipalities.
This feat was made possible thanks to funding of fifty million FCFA granted by the company SILA Equipement et BTP SA, involved in the construction of the Kiaka SA mine, as part of its social responsibility. The High Commissioner expressed his gratitude to the financial partner, as well as to the Grouping of Vocational Training Centers for Solar Energy Installation and Mining Equipment (CFPIES-EM) and the Koss-Wende Driving School for the quality of their training.
For the Director General of CFPIES-EM, Amadou Sore, this initiative represents "the culmination of an exemplary partnership" initiated by the Governorate. He urged the newly qualified individuals to demonstrate discipline, rigor, and professionalism. Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Joseph Ouanre expressed his gratitude to the Governor and all the partners. "Yesterday, we watched these iron behemoths pass by with curiosity; today, thanks to this training, we are able to tame them. We are ready to serve our country," he affirmed.
