Nazinon Education System Reform: MESFPT Urges Collective Mobilization from Education Stakeholders

Nazinon: The Minister of Secondary, Vocational and Technical Education, Professor Moumouni Zoungrana, urged education stakeholders in Nazinon to engage in collective action for an extensive reform of the Burkinabe education system. This appeal was made during a meeting at the Regional Council's conference room.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the meeting was part of a regional tour designed to understand local educational challenges, motivate stakeholders, and garner their support for necessary reforms. The minister was accompanied by the governor of Nazinon, Yvette Nacoulma, who expressed the regional administration's dedication to aiding the success of this mission.

Djeneba Ouedraogo, head of the Secondary Education, Vocational and Technical Training Directorate in Nazinon, outlined several challenges faced by education stakeholders, including a shortage of sites, inadequate transportation and human resources, insufficient training, and recurring student dropouts.

Professor Moumouni Zoungrana acknowledged the critical state of the Burkinabe education system, citing an imbalance with general education comprising 90% and vocational education only 10%. He encouraged stakeholders to propose grassroots reform ideas, asserting that such reforms are more likely to succeed.

Post-meeting, Ms. Ouedraogo expressed her approval of the minister's message, emphasizing her commitment to supporting the reforms for a successful outcome. Albert Niki¨ma from Naaba Baongo Provincial High School's student services department found the minister's message motivating and encouraging.
