Kongoussi: Civil administrator Karim Ouédraogo, installed yesterday Wednesday as High Commissioner of Bam, placed his mission under the sign of dialogue, permanent communication, consultation and the search for solutions to the existential concerns of the populations.
According to Burkina Information Agency, civil administrator Karim Ouédraogo was officially installed as high commissioner of the Bam province this Wednesday, December 4 by the secretary general of the Center-North region Adenyo/Sermé Bernadette, replacing Adama Jean Yves Béré, promoted to secretary general of the Center-West region. Appointed by the Council of Ministers on November 20, 2024, Karim Ouédraogo, previously Secretary General of the Bam province, took office after 2 years in his post, in the presence of the constituted bodies of the province.
The spokesperson for the Bam customary chiefs, Zitenga Naaba Tigré congratulated the new high commissioner on his appointment while urging all the vital forces of the Bam province to support
him because his appointment is a ‘blessing’ for Bam for having already been imbued with the major issues of Bam in his capacity as outgoing secretary general of the province. After installing him in his functions, the secretary general of the Adenyo/Sermé region, Bernadette, on behalf of the governor of the Centre-North, congratulated Mr. Ouédraogo on his appointment.
She reassured him of her full availability as well as that of the governor to accompany him in the accomplishment of his mission. The Secretary General of the region also invited the population of Bam to accompany the High Commissioner to succeed in his mission.
In his speech, Karim Ouédraogo thanked his superiors for the trust placed in him by entrusting him with the reins of the Bam province. He also thanked the outgoing High Commissioner Adama Jean Yves Béré for the frank collaboration that existed between them during the years spent together. He pledged to preserve the achievements made. “I take this recognition and promotion from the high
est authorities with humility, moderation and responsibility […] I pledge to preserve the achievements made during the two years spent with the High Commissioner,” he said.
Mr. Ouédraogo ended his speech by specifying that he places his mission under the sign of dialogue, permanent communication, consultation and the search for solutions to the existential concerns of the populations.
