New Primary Healthcare Center Opens in Bousse to Enhance Local Health Services


Kourweogo/health: A new primary healthcare center in Bousse to strengthen access to healthcare: The President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the Bousse municipality, Issiaka Ganamtore, presided over the opening ceremony of the Health and Social Promotion Center (CSPS) for well-being, located in sector 2 of the Bousse municipality, on Thursday, November 13, 2025. This facility, initiated by the Union Association for Health and Well-being (AUSB), aims to bring healthcare closer to the population for better health coverage in the province.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the opening ceremony of the Health and Social Promotion Centre (CSPS) for well-being brought together administrative, customary, religious, health and municipal authorities, as well as representatives of civil society organizations and technical and financial partners. The president of the Union Association for Health and Well-being (AUSB), Seydou Coulibaly, indicated that the creation of the Well-being CSPS responds to a real need of the population in terms of access to quality care.



The representative of the Bousse health district, Moumouni Tapsoba, welcomed the initiative and reaffirmed the support of the technical services to make the center a strong link in the local health system. The president of the special municipal delegation of Bousse, Issiaka Ganamtore, representing the High Commissioner of Kourweogo, congratulated AUSB for this civic action which reinforces the efforts of the State and the municipality in the area of community health. “This CSPS illustrates the fruitful partnership between the State, civil society, and communities,” he stressed.



The guided tour of the premises allowed guests to discover the center’s infrastructure, consisting of two buildings housing a maternity ward, a general medicine unit, a consultation room, a treatment room, two observation rooms with four beds each, a pharmaceutical depot, administrative offices, and latrines. The CSPS is staffed by eight health workers, including two nurses, a midwife, a mobile health worker, and support staff.



With this new infrastructure, the province of Kourweogo is acquiring an additional tool to strengthen local health services for the benefit of women, children, and all the people of Bousse.
