Djibasso: The President of the Special Delegation of the commune of Djibasso, Youssouf Diallo, presided over a significant event where 310 vulnerable households were provided with food supplies and free healthcare services, facilitated by the NGO Terre des hommes Lausanne.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the initiative, which took place on Thursday, October 23, 2025, involved distributing essential food items and establishing an advanced health post in Djibasso. Each household received a substantial package of 65 kg of rice, 20 kg of beans, 5 liters of oil, and 1 kg of salt. Additionally, 100 households benefited from essential household items, all made possible through financial contributions from partners like the Crisis and Support Centre (CDCS).

The project is part of a broader multi-sectoral emergency program aimed at supporting populations affected by humanitarian shocks. Terre des hommes Lausanne has set up the advanced health post to make healthcare more accessible, offering free services to the community. The team not only includes health workers but also a psychologist and a psychosocial worker to address the diverse needs of the population.

Terre des hommes Lausanne operates in the municipalities of Solenzo, Kouka, Nouna, and Dedougou, within the Bankui region, with the objective of strengthening community resilience and improving access to basic services. Mamadou Toni, a representative from the NGO, expressed satisfaction with the local authorities’ cooperation, noting the effective coordination that allowed them to deliver aid professionally and humanely.

The advanced health post has already seen a positive response, with many patients seeking its services.
