Niangoloko: The 16th edition of the Niangoloko inter-school football tournament reached its climax on Saturday at the town's municipal stadium. After a hard-fought final, the Municipal High School defeated Santa High School by the narrowest of margins (1-0), thus claiming the trophy for this edition.According to Burkina Information Agency, the closing ceremony began in a solemn atmosphere with the performance of the Ditanyè and the AES anthem. Several administrative and traditional figures took part in the event, which was marked in particular by speeches from the tournament promoter, Ousmane Hema, known as PM Ousbi, the representative of the sponsor, El Hadji Souleymane Soulama, former Minister of Transport, as well as the president of the special delegation of Niangoloko, Ouseni Ouédraogo.The highly anticipated final kicked off jointly by the president of the special delegation and the representative of the sponsor. On the field, both teams put on a high-quality show for the many fans who had turned out for the occasion. More enterprising in their play and dominant in possession, the municipal high school finally found a way through the opposing defense to win 1-0 against Santa High School.At the end of the competition, the various winning teams received their prizes. The Municipal High School, the tournament winner, took home 300,000 FCFA, a set of jerseys, and two balls. The runner-up, Santa High School, received 200,000 FCFA, a set of jerseys, and two balls.Speaking at the end of the ceremony, promoter Ousmane Hema praised the mobilization of educational stakeholders and young people around this competition, which is celebrating its 16th anniversary this year. He also appealed to well-wishers and partners to further support this initiative to ensure the tournament's sustainability, acknowledging that organizing these various editions has not always been easy.
