Nine (9) political figures and former military officials were stripped of their Nigerien nationality on Thursday for 'various offenses,' reports the Nigerien Press Agency (ANP)"His Excellency Brigadier General Abdourahamane Tiani, President of the National Council for the Safeguarding of the Homeland, Head of State signed today, Thursday, October 10, 2024, a decree stripping the nationality of certain persons for various offenses provided for and punishable by law," indicates the ANP.According to the same source, this forfeiture is enacted "in accordance with Ordinance No. 2024-43 of August 27, 2024, establishing a file of persons, groups of persons or entities involved in acts of terrorism or in any other offenses undermining the strategic and/or fundamental interests of the Nation or likely to seriously disturb public peace and security and establishing the terms of registration and withdrawal as well as the related effects, amended and supplemented by Ordinance No. 2024-46 of October 7, 2024."These include:1) RHISSA AG BOULLA, born January 1, 1957 in Iférouane (Arlit), son of OYAHID AG BOULLA and TCHILIWATT;2) PAGOUI HAMIDINE ABDOU, born January 1, 1973 in Ingall (Agadez), son of PAGOUI HAMIDINE and AZIZA;3) AMADOU N'GADE HAMID, born June 30, 1981 in Niamey, son of AMADOU N'GADE and HADIZA NOMA K???;4) ABDOUL KADER MOHAMED, born April 6, 1973 in Agadez, son of ABDOUL KADER and FATI;5) ABOU MAHAMADOU TARKA, born on April 7, 1950 in Belbédji/Zongo, son of ABOU and FATIMA known as Titi;6) DAOUDA DJIBO TAKOUBAKOYE, born on November 27, 1975 in Latakabia (Kollo), son of DAOUDA and AISSATOU;7) KARINGAMA WALI IBRAHIM, born August 29, 1963 in Zinder, son of KARINGAMA WALI and RAHAMOU;8) HAROUNA GAZOBI SOULEYMANE, born January 10, 1974 in Malbaza, son of HAROUNA GAZOBI and ZOULEHATOU;9) MOUSSA MOUMOUNI, born on 1 January 1985 in Tchibba Tombo, son of Moussa and HAMSA."The above-mentioned persons are suspected in particular of carrying out activities likely to disturb public peace and security ; of collusion with a foreign power, with a view to encouraging it to undertake hostilities against the State, by providing it with the means, by facilitating the penetration of foreign forces into Nigerien territory, by undermining the loyalty of the armies or in any other way; of conspiracy against the authority of the State and of treason; of participation in an enterprise to demoralise the army or the nation with the aim of harming national defence and of disseminating data or remarks likely to disturb public order", concluded the ANP.Source: Burkina Information Agency
