Niger’s Prime Minister Hosts Delegation from Sahel States Confederation

Niger: Prime Minister Mr. Ali Mahaman Lamine Zeine received a delegation of ministers responsible for defense and foreign affairs from the Confederation of the Alliance of Sahel States. The meeting, which took place on Friday, September 18, 2026, involved discussions with key officials from Burkina Faso and Mali.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the delegation included high-ranking officials such as Brigadier General C©lestin Simpor©, the Minister of State and Minister of War and Patriotic Defense of Burkina Faso. Accompanying him were Mr. Bassolma Bazi©, President of the National AES Commission of Burkina Faso, and Mr. Karamoko Jean Marie Traor©, the Minister of Foreign Affairs. From Mali, Major General Oumar Diarra, the Minister Delegate to the Minister of Defense and Veterans Affairs, and Mr. Abdoulaye Diop, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, were present.

The meeting was attended by Nigerien officials including General Salifou Mody, Minister of State for National Defence, Mr. Bakary Yaou Sangar©, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Nigeriens Abroad, and Ambassador Illo Adani, Advisor in charge of Strategic and Diplomatic Issues to the President of the Republic.
