Hanoi: The Association for the Economic, Cultural and Social Development of Sgunga (ADECUSS) held an extraordinary general assembly this Sunday, August 16, in Ouagadougou, in order to comply with the new regulations of the law now governing associations and to renew its executive board, now headed by Noufo Enok Kindo, AIB observed on site.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this extraordinary general meeting was held in the presence of members and supporters of ADECUSS from Sgunga, Bobo, Ouahigouya, and Ouagadougou. The purpose was to bring the association into compliance with the new law 011/ALT of July 2025, present the activity report, and renew the governing bodies.
In his welcoming remarks, outgoing president Noufo Enok Kindo praised the mobilization of members and the efforts of the office, and thanked the people of Sgunga and the fighting forces for their resilience. During the meeting, the outgoing board presented the activity and financial reports. It appears that the association supported the war effort at the local level by accompanying the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), by supporting the population with food, and by providing support to the municipality and the medical center of Sgunga.
ADECUSS has selected three priority themes out of the nineteen provided for by the new law, namely political and local governance, education and training, as well as the environment and sustainable development. A new board was elected by consensus for a three-year term, with Noufo Enok Kindo re-elected as president of the association.
The newly installed president of ADECUSS called on the members of the board to unite and give of themselves in order to meet the challenges of the municipality. He acknowledged the resource persons and announced that they would be approached because "the challenges remain." He also invited the participants to support the Fighting Forces for the reconquest of the national territory, and to support the dynamic of the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor.
Present at the meeting, the chief of Sgunga, Naaba Soulgo, and the elders congratulated the new office and expressed wishes for success for the upcoming term.
