Opening of Faso-Yaar Shop in Dassa Brings Relief Amid High Consumption Period

Sanguie: The High Commissioner of the Sanguie Province, Talari Germaine Ouoba, observed the opening of the Faso-Yaar state company store in Dassa, a government initiative to provide consumer goods at social prices during the Muslim fasting and Christian Lent period.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the store has been operational since February 19, 2026, and will continue until March 25, 2026. It operates from Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., while supplies last. Talari Germaine Ouoba expressed satisfaction with the stocked essential goods, deeming the store a symbol of resilience for the local population. She encouraged residents to register with their Burkinabe National Identity Card (CNIB) to access the goods.

Ali Zerbo, President of the Special Delegation of the Dassa municipality, highlighted security measures, including law enforcement and trained youth managing sales. A computerized system facilitates national identity card registration and purchase validation. Despite initial internet connection issues, the operation is progressing well with standardized pricing.

The store offers various products such as SN SOSUCO sugar, Savor cooking oil, Dafani juices, and Malia juices. Customer Abdoulaye Bayili noted the price differences between the Faso-Yaar store and the market but suggested more public awareness about product quality. Additionally, Faso-Yaar plans to open another store in Pouni, near the Women's Income-Generating Activities Support Fund office.

Through this initiative, the government aims to stabilize essential goods prices and support household purchasing power in Sanguie during this high-demand period.
