Operation HIMO: Beneficiaries Welcome the Initiative

Titao: The vice-president of the special delegation of Titao, Oumarou Dialla, closed the High Intensity Labor Operation (HIMO) on Friday, January 10, 2024, in Titao. This initiative was part of the Community Project for Recovery and Stabilization of the Sahel (PCRSS) and was met with approval from numerous beneficiaries.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the HIMO project was launched on October 4, 2024, by the Titao town hall and successfully recruited 250 women and men to engage in sanitation and maintenance activities. In his concluding remarks, Oumarou Dialla urged women to pursue income-generating activities to maximize the benefits of this initiative.

Beneficiary Fatimata Bouda expressed gratitude to the special delegation and its partners for implementing the project. She noted that the income generated from the activity was reinvested into further income-generating ventures and helped cover children’s schooling and other household expenses.

Boukary Kagon© echoed similar sentiments, highlighting the positive impact on households. “We have benefited from this activity. HIMO has helped us solve our social problems,” he stated.

Oumarou Dialla recognized the operation as well-suited to the locality’s needs. He expressed pride in the project’s success, noting that the execution deadline had been extended by two months due to its achievements. Dialla also thanked the PCRSS for its financial backing, which was crucial for the project’s implementation.

In light of the challenging security and humanitarian conditions affecting employment, HIMO works serve as a vital measure to enhance the resilience of the local population.
