Zoundweogo: Oskimo Tour raises awareness among students at the Manga provincial high school about the harmful effects of drugs. Following the Gogo stop, the Naaba Baongho Provincial High School in Manga hosted the "Oskimo Tour," an awareness caravan on the harmful effects of drugs in schools, initiated by the artist Oskimo. The caravan mobilized students and educational authorities around issues of health, culture, development, and the promotion of a healthy, violence-free learning environment.
According to Burkina Information Agency, under the theme "My health, my future: I say no to drugs," this campaign provided a framework for reflection and interactive dialogue between young people and artists on the harmful effects of drugs and narcotics on the psychosomatic health of young people. It reached many young people, mostly students.
For the initiator of the caravan, Issouf Sawadogo, alias Oskimo, who is also president of the Cultural Initiative for Health and Development in Burkina Faso (ICSD), this initiative aims to empower young people to face the challenges related to the consumption of drugs and similar substances.
According to Oskimo, the caravan also pursues objectives of changing behavior, promoting citizenship and preventing risks related to the consumption of drugs and psychotropic substances among adolescents.
For Zoungrana Noufou, the censor of the Naaba Baongho provincial high school in Manga, this campaign reinforces the educational role ensured by his collaborators. He indicated that this is a support for initiatives already carried out in class by life and earth science teachers, inviting students to be goodwill ambassadors for the eradication of drugs within the establishment.
Belem Soukaina, a student who participated in the activity, said she was satisfied with the information she received about the harmful effects of drugs. She thanked the organizers for this awareness campaign organized for them.
The Oskimo Tour caravan, in addition to covering establishments in the Nazinon region, also extends to other regions of the country.
