Ouagadougou: The provincial director of Preschool, Primary and Non-Formal Education (DPEPPNF) for Gnagna, Sylvain Thiombiano, called on teaching staff in Bogand on Tuesday to familiarize themselves with the official instructions for the start of the administrative and pedagogical school year and to effectively support the reforms undertaken in the Burkinabe education system.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the top official in charge of primary education in the province was speaking after the official launch of the resumption of activities, held at the Bantia public primary school, in the presence of the eight heads of basic education districts (CCEB) in the province.

In constructive language, he urged teachers to take note of the official instructions and to ensure their rigorous application, particularly those relating to the organization of the first teachers' councils, which must be held before October 1, 2026.

He also called on staff to support the ongoing structural adjustments, particularly the generalization of bilingualism in CP1 (first year of preparatory course), which aims to strengthen student learning through the consideration of national languages.

The authority has also called for the commitment of all for the success of the Provincial Day of Excellence, considered as a framework for valuing the efforts and results of the actors in the education system in Gnagna.

On the sports side, Sylvain Thiombiano announced initiatives aimed at boosting the practice of physical activities among educational staff, notably through the project to create a provincial football and p©tanque team and the organization of recreational events in schools for the benefit of teachers.

Finally, addressing the provincial director urged all officials and teachers to make this new school year a period of mobilization, professional discipline, and innovation, in order to further improve the quality of learning in the Gnagna province.
