Oubri Builder’s Day to Celebrate Community Development in 2026

Ziniare:The third edition of the Oubri Builder's Day (JBO), recognizing citizens committed to community development, is scheduled for November 7, 2026, in Ziniare. The announcement was made by the organizing committee during a press conference on Thursday.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this edition, organized by Yirimedia.com, will emphasize the theme "Uniting to Build Civic and Community Responsibility." The awards ceremony is set to occur at 3 p.m. in Ziniare's multipurpose hall.

The event will expand to cover the entire Oubri region, aiming to enhance recognition for citizen initiatives and unite the region's three provinces around solidarity and community responsibility. Idrissa Ouedraogo, head of the organizing committee, highlighted that the hiatus in 2025 provided an opportunity to prepare effectively for this edition, introducing innovations aligned with their goals.

The JBO intends to honor individuals whose contributions aid community development, with categories such as "Great Builder," "Women's Leadership," "Young Leadership," "Peace and Social Cohesion," "Environment and Sustainable Development," "Social Engagement," and "Impactful Association (CSO)." An independent jury will select awardees, ensuring a merit-based evaluation.

Past editions have led to achievements such as networking model citizens and enhancing the capacity of involved parties. The 2026 edition aims to inspire sustainable engagement, especially among the youth, by acknowledging local development initiatives.

Idrissa Ouedraogo called for the support of various stakeholders, including authorities, communities, and media, to elevate the visibility of exemplary initiatives and foster support for the event. The JBO aspires to be a platform for promoting civic engagement and collective contributions towards a resilient Oubri region.
