Oudalan: The Special Delegation Reviews 2025 and Sets Priorities for 2026

Tenkodogo: The president of the special delegation of the commune of Gorom-Gorom, Sibiri Neya, presided on Thursday over the first ordinary session of the year, dedicated to examining the authorizing officer's report and defining prospects for the 2026 financial year. In his introductory remarks, the president of the special delegation (PDS) highlighted the primary objectives assigned to the municipality in 2025, which focused on improving social protection, agro-sylvo-pastoral productivity, and strengthening population resilience.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Sibiri Neya emphasized the major assets of the commune of Gorom-Gorom, such as its significant mining potential and strategic geographical position in the province of Oudalan, which can support its development. However, he pointed out several challenges that these potentials face, including the security situation, persistent educational difficulties, and shortcomings in drinking water supply. These constraints, he noted, impact the efficient implementation of development actions for the population's benefit.

For 2025, the municipality adopted a provisional budget of 2,521,336,917 FCFA, with projected expenditures amounting to 1,135,378,581 FCFA, representing a 45.3% commitment rate. At the close of the financial year, expenses actually paid reached 786,290,807 FCFA, corresponding to a budget execution rate of 31.18%. Despite this implementation level, the PDS considered the overall results satisfactory, particularly in the given context. It noted a 94% implementation rate for the public procurement plan, indicating a significant improvement in administrative and financial management.

Looking ahead to 2026, the municipality plans to continue priority investments, complete ongoing projects, and strengthen the mobilization of its resources. Improving financial governance is also among the strategic priorities announced. The PDS invited the population to demonstrate civic responsibility and collaborate with the municipal administration and Defense and Security Forces (FDS) to consolidate peace and social cohesion.

At the conclusion of their work, the members of the special delegation reaffirmed their commitment to working towards the harmonious development of the municipality. Despite an environment marked by numerous challenges, the municipality of Gorom-Gorom demonstrated its determination to consolidate the achievements of 2025 and ensure that its actions in 2026 are driven by performance and resilience.
