Ziga:More than 9,000 students returned to school under the Basic Education District (CEB) of Ziga, marking the beginning of the 2026-2027 school year.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Edmond Ou©draogo, head of the Ziga Basic Education District, confirmed that the academic year has officially commenced in all educational institutions within the municipality, with teachers also resuming their duties.
The CEB forecasts indicate that the student population this year is expected to surpass 9,000, a significant increase from the 7,806 students recorded in the previous school year. This rise highlights a growing number of students attending schools in the district.
Observations at schools such as Tanseiga, Lilma, Tankogo, and Daffol© showed students actively participating in educational activities, as well as engaging in cleaning and preparing classrooms for the school year.
The head of the CEB of Ziga expressed hopes for improved academic results this year and called on all education stakeholders to enhance their individual and collective commitments. The district comprises three Early Childhood Development and Preschool Education Centers, 52 primary schools, including one private school, and five Franco-Arabic schools.
