Pastor Henri Ye Calls on Faithful to Proclaim Faith in Jesus During Easter Service

Ouagadougou: The senior pastor of the Good Shepherd Baptist Church, Henri Ye, placed the role of Jesus Christ as "mediator between God and humanity" at the heart of his Easter message on Sunday, calling on the faithful to affirm their faith and bear witness to his resurrection. The government delegation attending the service included the Minister and Chief of Staff to the President of Burkina Faso, Captain Martha Celeste Anderson Medah, and the Minister for Digital Transition, Aminata Zerbo/Sabane.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Christian community of the Good Shepherd Evangelical Baptist Church celebrated the feast of the resurrection of Christ on Sunday, April 5, 2026, in the presence of a government delegation mandated by the President of Faso. The preacher emphasized that the resurrection of Christ is not merely a symbolic celebration, but constitutes the foundation of the Christian faith and the condition for access to eternal life. "If Jesus had not risen, our faith would be in vain," he stated.

Speaking of the spiritual significance of this event, the pastor affirmed that Jesus Christ is the one who "resolved the issue of sin" by serving as an intermediary between God and humanity. Through his death and resurrection, he, in his view, paved the way for the forgiveness of sins and reconciliation with God. Henri Ye also emphasized that salvation is a divine grace, accessible through faith. "It is by grace that we are saved," he declared, specifying that this grace is offered to all who choose to believe.

On the occasion of Easter, he invited the faithful, as well as non-Christians, to "confess their faith and proclaim the risen Jesus to all creation," believing that this testimony is essential to strengthen faith and carry the Christian message. The government delegation attending the service included the Chief of Staff to the President of Burkina Faso, Captain Martha Celeste Anderson Medah, and the Minister for Digital Transition, Aminata Zerbo/Sabane.

For Martha Celeste Anderson Medah, the resurrection of Christ is "a supreme manifestation of God's love." The Minister Chief of Staff conveyed the Government's gratitude to the Good Shepherd Baptist Church community for its many prayers and acts of solidarity in support of peace and social cohesion. Captain Medah finally expressed his hope that the values promoted by Easter, including love, unity, and resilience, will help strengthen community spirit and pave the way for better days for Burkina Faso.
