Koubri:The "March of the National Bastion" caravan, consisting of a dozen young participants, was welcomed by the authorities of the commune of Koubri as part of their patriotic journey from Nahouri Peak to the Thomas Sankara Memorial in Ouagadougou.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the caravan commenced its 170-kilometer trek from Nahouri Peak on September 29, 2026. This initiative aims to express support for the ideals of the Popular Progressive Revolution (RPP) and to mobilize the youth of Burkina Faso and the Confederation of Sahel States (AES).
Lamine Mahamadou Koutiebou, one of the participants, emphasized the march's goal of encouraging youth mobilization and vigilance in supporting national leaders against imperialism. The Koubri authorities, led by President of the special delegation Samad Lonard Gougou, commended the participants for their determination and unity.
Gougou praised the marchers for demonstrating the power of a united and disciplined people in facing significant challenges. He also highlighted the alignment of the caravan's message with the vision of Burkina Faso's President, Captain Ibrahim Traor, and the Popular Progressive Revolution.
During their stop in Koubri, the caravan members expressed support for the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and conveyed a message to the local President of the Defense and Security Forces. The participants planned to spend the night in Koubri before resuming their journey to the memorial, where they expect to be welcomed by regional administrative authorities.
The organizers view this march as a symbol of mobilization, cohesion, and commitment to the values associated with the legacy of Thomas Sankara and the aspirations for sovereignty among the peoples of the AES.
