Ouagadougou: The governor of the Kadiogo region, Abdoulaye Bassinga, conducted a visit to the private girls' high school in Koubri, which is hosting the 2026 compulsory patriotic immersion program. This visit was aimed at ensuring the smooth progression of activities for the second cohort of conscripts.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the governor was accompanied by the president of the Special Delegation (PDS) of Koubri, members of the Special Delegation, the municipal coordination of Citizen Watch, officials of decentralized services, and various actors involved in the initiative's organization. The delegation first held a working session with the officials overseeing the program.
Following the meeting, the delegation witnessed several demonstrations that showcased the discipline, rigor, and commitment of the conscripts. These activities highlighted the knowledge and skills acquired by the participants during the patriotic immersion, which was initiated by Burkinabe authorities to promote values such as civic-mindedness, patriotism, solidarity, sacrifice, and social cohesion.
At the conclusion of the visit, Governor Abdoulaye Bassinga expressed his satisfaction with the outcomes observed during the visit. He commended the quality of supervision and the dedication of all stakeholders contributing to the initiative's success.
"What we have seen today is encouraging. We have seen disciplined, determined young people who are aware of their responsibility to the nation. This immersion is a school of citizenship that will help to train Burkinabe citizens committed to serving their country," the governor stated.
He further urged local authorities, decentralized services, civil society organizations, and the public to continue their support to ensure the success of this governmental initiative.
Representing the conscripts, one participant expressed her gratitude to the authorities for the training conditions provided. "This immersion teaches us discipline, respect for republican values, and a sense of duty. We leave with a strengthened spirit of patriotism and the will to contribute to the development and defense of our country," she stated.
The visit concluded with a communal meal shared among the administrative authorities, supervisors, and conscripts, fostering an atmosphere of fraternity, conviviality, and cohesion.
