Poni: The sacred site of Lorop©ni, in the province of Poni, served as the setting, this Friday, May 15, 2026, for the celebration of the National Day of Customs and Traditions. On this occasion, the customary and traditional authorities, led by His Majesty Ongb¨t© II, carried out sacrificial rites and offerings in homage to the ancestors.

According to Burkina Information Agency, large numbers of people turned out to participate in this ceremony of reflection and spirituality to implore peace, social cohesion, and prosperity for Burkina Faso. Established in 2024, the National Day of Customs and Traditions is being celebrated this year in its third edition.
