Gaoua: The women's cultural association Les Amazones de Santa presented the play "The Other End of the Cloth" on Saturday in Gaoua, as part of its "One Soldier, One Living Bulwark" project. The play paid tribute to the Defense and Security Forces and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland, and was performed in the presence of administrative authorities and members of the Defense and Security Forces.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the association's president, Gertrude Karama, stated that this project aims to recognize the efforts and sacrifices made by the fighting forces in the struggle to recapture the national territory. "For us, this is a recognition of their efforts and their daily sacrifices. Through this initiative, we want to show them the support of the population, to tell them that the people are on their side and pray for the return of peace," she said.
The technical advisor in charge of Culture and Sports to the governor, Yakouba Lengani, representing the governor of the Dj´r´ region, congratulated the promoter for this work which highlights the daily life and commitment of the FDS. He also emphasized that the play is a call for national solidarity. "This work is a call for unity among all components of the nation, military and civilian alike, to join hands to confront insecurity," he stated.
After its launch in Banfora on April 9, 2026, the play will be presented in 14 garrisons across the country, before concluding on April 28, 2026, at the Armed Forces Cultural Center in Ouagadougou.
