Kindi: Poultry farmer Denis Zoundi from Kindi has succeeded in his large-scale farming venture. Denis Zoundi, a poultry farmer in Kindi, located about fifty kilometers east of Koudougou, has succeeded in his large-scale farming venture with a massive poultry sale organized at his home on Saturday, January 31, AIB observed.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Denis Zoundi, a 61-year-old farmer from the Zagtogo district, has become a key figure in the Boulkiemd© province, having transformed a modest round hut project into a large-scale poultry farm. Starting from almost nothing, Mr. Zoundi now manages a 2-hectare farm. The infrastructure reflects his journey with three large buildings, each with a capacity of 1,000 chicks; a water supply system via a water tower; agricultural diversification with fruit trees; and a team of 6 seasonal workers to support production.
The sale on Saturday, January 31st, marking the end of a 45-day production cycle, attracted a crowd from Ouagadougou, R©o, Koudougou, and surrounding villages. The selling price was set at 2,000 FCFA per unit. According to the promoter, maintaining a band (care and feeding) requires an investment of over 200,000 FCFA. This investment proves profitable given the quality: clients report an exceptional success rate of 98%, the result of rigorous health monitoring.
Despite this success, Denis Zoundi faces obstacles that hinder the expansion of his business. These include a lack of suitable logistical resources for deliveries, a makeshift fence that does not fully secure the 2-hectare site, and a need for modern equipment to further professionalize the production chain. The entrepreneur is appealing to partners and well-wishers to support him in modernizing this farm, which today constitutes an economic engine for the locality of Kindi.
