Bobo-Dioulasso: The President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, recently visited SN ANATRANS SA, an industrial cashew processing unit located in Bobo-Dioulasso's industrial zone II, marking a significant milestone in the company's recovery.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the visit was a testament to the government's commitment to industrial development. The company, initially founded in 2008, faced operational challenges leading to its closure in July 2024. However, with the state's intervention, particularly through the Burkinabe Fund for Economic and Social Development (FBDES), which invested 20% in the company, ANATRANS SA has been revitalized.
The reopening of SN ANATRANS SA has resulted in the creation of over 1,300 jobs, with women holding 90% of these positions. Additionally, more than 5,000 producers have regained access to a market for their organic and fair trade nuts. This aligns with the vision of President Traor©, who emphasizes the development of national resources and economic sovereignty.
During his visit, President Traor© expressed his satisfaction with the factory's revival and highlighted its significance in promoting economic independence. He encouraged the employees to share their experiences with younger generations, emphasizing the importance of the country's sovereignist vision since his rise to power in September 2022.
The visit has reinvigorated the workforce at SN ANATRANS SA, with employees pledging their commitment to contributing towards a prosperous Burkina Faso.
