PS Celebrates Day of Customs and Traditions with Rituals and Sacrifices

Meguet: The village of PS commemorated the Day of Customs and Traditions, during which several rites and sacrifices were made in favor of peace, security, and social cohesion. The traditional leaders of PS led the community in this annual event, highlighting the importance of maintaining cultural heritage and unity.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the celebration included the sacrifice of a white rooster on the tomb of the village's founder, symbolizing respect and reverence for the ancestors. This was accompanied by other chicken rituals. A large, all-white ram was also sacrificed, specifically intended to invoke the return of peace to Burkina Faso.

Bay© Nikievo, the representative of the union of practitioners and supporters of the customs and traditions of PS, emphasized that this day is an honor for the community. He highlighted the significance of communing with their ancestors and seeking their blessings for peace, prosperity, and unity in the country.

In addition to the ritual ceremonies, a market street was organized, showcasing various culinary displays. The event also celebrated the longstanding joke relationship between the Bwa and Fulani peoples. The day's festivities were further enriched by the appearance of masks and performances by artists, adding a vibrant touch to the commemoration.
