Ramongo: On the occasion of its 10th anniversary, 'Ramongo Day' has been deploying, since last Friday, an intense program combining health, citizenship, and solidarity. Between free screenings and facilitated administrative enrollment, the event marks a historic turning point for the municipality.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was launched on Friday, February 27th with a press conference under the theme "Security Challenges and Citizen Contribution for a Peaceful Burkina Faso." This 10th edition took on a concrete social dimension this Thursday, as the town hall grounds were transformed into a vast mobile health center. Attendees were offered free screenings for high blood pressure, diabetes, hepatitis, and cervical cancer.

In addition to the health aspect, the event's promoter, Alexandre le Grand Rouamba, emphasized civic identity. A special initiative is currently enabling people to obtain their Burkinab¨ National Identity Card (CNIB) for a symbolic fee of 1,000 FCFA.

A particularly poignant moment of the day was the arrival of a woman over 80 years old, who had walked more than ten kilometers to register. She expressed her desire to prove her belonging to the nation, asserting that every citizen has a right to possess their administrative documents, regardless of age. Moved by her determination, Alexandre le Grand Rouamba personally took charge of her situation and provided her with a vehicle for her return journey.

Faced with the massive mobilization of the "Ramongolais," the promoter expressed his deep satisfaction, mentioning that "this strong support testifies to the growing interest of the population in Ramongo Day and its real impact on the daily lives of citizens."

The highlight of these celebrations is expected this Saturday, March 7, 2026, with the grand football final which will mark the official closing of this anniversary edition.
