Reconquest of national territory: the BBDA mobilizes 3,478,575 FCFA in support of the fighting forces

Ouagadougou: On the sidelines of the inauguration ceremony of the new headquarters of the Western Regional Directorate, the Burkinabé Copyright Office (BBDA) proceeded this Tuesday, April 30, 2024, to the payment of its contribution to the peace effort and also the award of labels to users who regularly pay royalties.

It was the Minister of State, Minister of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism, Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo, who received the donation from the hands of the Director General of the BBDA, Hamed known as Patindeba Patric Lega.

The presentation of the fundraiser in support of all the forces mobilized for the conquest of the entire territory took place during the Return of Copyright (RDA) held in Ouahigouya from December 15 to 17, 2023. It was supplemented by the contribution of all and the contribution of the BBDA administration through its operating costs, year 2024. A sum of Three million four hundred seventy-eight thousand five hundred seventy-five (3,478,575) FCFA.

In the dynamic of
also encouraging users to freely participate in the culture of collective management, a distinction has been initiated with CISAC, the Copyright Compliance Label, the third series of which is being held today after that of Ouagadougou and Ouahigouya. Ten (10) models of users of protected works will be labeled. They are committed to being mediators and facilitators towards their peers to boost copyright and neighboring rights in Burkina Faso.
