Boulgou: The Urban 1 CSPS of Zabr hosted, this Monday morning, the regional launch ceremony of the National Family Planning Plus Week (SNPF+), a major event for the health and well-being of communities, indicated the High Commissioner of Boulgou, Domebeguire Constantin Dabir.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this week, scheduled from November 10 to 16, 2026, will be dedicated to raising awareness about family planning, a crucial issue for sustainable development and a better quality of life. The opening ceremony began with a blessing from the representative of the Zabr canton chief, followed by speeches from the Prefect, president of the Zabr special delegation, the Regional Director of Health, and the High Commissioner, representing the governor of Nakamb.
‘This is an opportunity for families to decide how many children they want and to space out births so that women, key economic players, can fully participate in family, community, and national life,’ said Mr. Dabir. He encouraged the population to take full advantage of the free services offered at the region’s health facilities, while also commending the healthcare staff for their encouraging results.
The Regional Health Director of Nakamb, Dr. Lend Tougri, emphasized that family planning contributes to population control and the strengthening of human capital. “Family planning is not a prohibition on procreation, but rather an opportunity for couples to decide on the number of children they want based on their resources,” he clarified.
Local artists entertained the audience at the ceremony, which was followed by a visit to the mobile clinic where participants learned about available reproductive health services. ‘Thanks to family planning, we are healthier and so are our children. This allows us to better support our families and advance society,’ testified Adissa, a beneficiary.
The Nakamb Regional Health Directorate has nearly 200 CSPS and about ten CMA.
