Zorgho: As part of the 12th edition of the 24-hour sports event organized by the Zorgho Youth Meeting Association (ReJeZo), a public conference was held on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, bringing together students, administrative, customary, religious authorities, and association leaders at the Zorgho Youth Center around two themes: patriotic commitment and road safety.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the meeting, chaired by the High Commissioner of the province of Ganzourgou, Aminata Sorgho/Gouba, began with a welcome address from the Prefect and President of the Special Communal Delegation of Zorgho, Valentin Badolo, who praised the initiative of ReJeZo. The President of ReJeZo and Special Advisor to the President of Burkina Faso on Good Governance, Ragnang-newend© Isidore Tiemtor©, outlined the event's objectives, emphasizing the need to strengthen the patriotic commitment of young people and raise their awareness about road safety to reduce traffic accidents.
The first presentation, led by the provincial director of sports, youth, and employment for Ganzourgou, Sadou Bruno Ou©draogo, focused on "Patriotic and Civic Engagement and the Ideals of the Progressive and Popular Revolution (RPP)." Through a question-and-answer session, he reviewed the achievements of the RPP and encouraged students to contribute positively to their country.
The second presentation, focusing on road safety, was given by the Provincial Director of the National Police of Ganzourgou, Bintou Ou©draogo, in collaboration with the National Road Safety Office (ONASER). She presented concerning statistics on traffic accidents, highlighting the urgent need for awareness, especially since many students travel the N4 national road to reach their schools.
Boudnoma Nina SAME/Yam©ogo, the director of road safety promotion, emphasized the importance of respecting traffic rules and reiterated the responsibilities of pedestrians. The ONASER focal point in Zorgho, Police Captain Souleymane Ou©draogo, explained the causes of accidents and proposed preventive measures.
Throughout the event, students received headphones as rewards for correctly answering questions, encouraging them to promote road safety awareness among their peers. In closing, the High Commissioner urged attendees to internalize the messages and act responsibly, commending ReJeZo for its impactful initiative and thanking all partners involved.
