Release of First Cohort of Patriotic Immersion Places Youth at Center of Revolution

Nando: It was in a ‘historic’ moment that the national coordinator of the Presidential Initiatives of Major Projects, Dr. Zakaria Sore, spoke on Tuesday, on the occasion of the graduation ceremony of the first cohort of conscripts in immersion. Before an audience of officials, including Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouedraogo, he praised an initiative that embodies the vision of Captain Ibrahim Traore, placing young people at the center of the fight for sovereignty and the rebirth of Burkina Faso.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this patriotic immersion, a break with the old system, aims to train “sovereign” citizens, invested with national values, clear-sighted about geopolitical issues and ready to “carry the flame of the revolution.” Dr. Sore emphasized his deep gratitude to all those who made this first edition possible, from ministers to defense and security forces, including teacher-researchers and partners such as the Kalis group. He particularly highlighted the decisive support of the Prime Minister and the Ministers of Education and Agriculture.

Addressing the young conscripts directly, the Secretary General praised their resilience and their ability to live together with mutual respect, proving that “unity is possible in diversity.” He urged them to become “soldiers of the national conscience,” bearing values such as patriotism, discipline, integrity, and courage. “This sortie is not the end, it is a beginning,” he said, calling on them to embody what they have learned and guide their actions and choices. He concluded by wishing a good academic year to the conscripts, who are returning to university with a new vision of the world.
