Religious Community in Sebba Fosters Unity Through Collective Breaking of Fast

Sebba: The religious community of Sebba came together on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, for a collective breaking of the fast at the Sunni mosque, aimed at fostering social cohesion, solidarity, and harmonious coexistence among the diverse communities in the area. This gathering is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen social ties during the holy month of Ramadan.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this was the second event of its kind during the current Ramadan season, following a previous gathering held on February 28th at the Tijania Grand Mosque. The initiative, led by members of the local religious community, seeks to bridge gaps between different religious denominations and societal segments, promoting peace and mutual support.

The event drew the participation of municipal authorities, Defense and Security Forces (FDS), Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), the provincial director of humanitarian action, traditional leaders, and representatives from various religious denominations. Following the communal meal, messages were shared with the Muslim faithful, urging them to continue promoting solidarity and social peace.

Looking ahead, a third and final gathering is scheduled at the second Tijania mosque in Sebba, marking the conclusion of the month-long observance.
