RISA Calls for Mobilization to Commemorate Captain Ibrahim Traor’s Leadership Anniversary

Sangui:The Pouni section of the Gathering of Intelligences for the Sovereignty of Africa (RISA) hosted a public conference on Thursday with the theme "Year 5 of Comrade Captain Ibrahim Traor, perspectives." This event was part of the commemoration of the fifth year of governance by the Head of State and the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the RISA delegation, which included members from Ouagadougou and Koudougou, began the day with a visit to the royal court of Pouni. The traditional leadership there offered blessings to the country's authorities and wished success for the mission, following a warm welcome.

The opening ceremony featured speeches from Adama Yamogo, the movement's local coordinator, and Nadine Timounou/Badiel, President of the Special Delegation of Pouni. Representing the regional governor, who could not attend, Timounou/Badiel welcomed participants from the commune's twenty-one villages and ten hamlets and wished them fruitful discussions.

The conference included two key presentations aimed at enhancing public involvement in the Popular Progressive Revolution (PPR). Dr. Boukary Nbi, national secretary general of RISA, delivered the first presentation, discussing the role of the popular masses in the RPP. He highlighted that Captain Ibrahim Traor's leadership emerged from a need to rebuild Burkinabè society and create a sovereign, long-term vision for the country. Addressing criticisms of "excessive militarization," Dr. Nbi clarified that the approach in Burkina Faso balances securing the territory with development initiatives, citing completed projects in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and agriculture.

The second presentation, by Adama Siguir, national coordinator of RISA and vice-president of the National Commission of AES, focused on urging citizens to intensify their efforts to support the RPP and the government sustainably.

The event concluded with a call for general mobilization, as RISA plans to continue these patriotic awareness campaigns to support the authorities and achieve successful outcomes by September 2027.
