Banfora: The Ministry of Infrastructure and Rural Development, through the Permanent Secretariat of the Transport Sector Program, organized an information session in Banfora to present the implementation of the Bobo-Dioulasso-Banfora and Banfora-Orodara Road Rehabilitation Project, known as PreBBO, to key stakeholders in the Tannounyan region.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the PreBBO Project aims to support the transport sector by rehabilitating and reinforcing the Bobo-Banfora road up to the border with Cote d'Ivoire, including the Banfora-Orodara spur. The project's Lot 01 involves the rehabilitation and reinforcement of the Bobo-Banfora road over a distance of 84.7 km, which includes constructing three reinforced concrete beam bridges in Banfora's sectors 11 and 14. Lot 2 involves constructing and paving the 42 km Banfora-Orodara spur, including three bridges at specified kilometer points.
The works for Lot 01 will be carried out by SOROUBAT at a cost of 74,336,190,018 FCFA, with a completion time of 24 months. Lot 02 has been awarded to a consortium of JOC-ER SA/SOTRACOM SA for 21,359,133,573 FCFA, with an 18-month completion time. Supervision for Lot 01 will be handled by Techni-Consult/ACIT Geotechnique for 1,043,527,525 FCFA over 26 months, while TED-CIRA will oversee Lot 02 for 803,061,968 FCFA over 20 months.
Governor Patrice Yeye of the Tannounyan region emphasized the project's alignment with national directives and the necessity for regional commitment and involvement. He highlighted the importance of stakeholder participation to meet contractual deadlines and urged the recruited companies to deliver quality infrastructure that meets public expectations.
