Zondoma: The grounds of the private evangelical Bethel high school in Gourcy hosted, on Saturday May 9, 2026, the grand final of the first edition of the inter-school maracana tournament of the province of Zondoma, organized by the founder of said establishment.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the tournament was part of an initiative represented by Daniel Tangui, aimed at promoting school sport, social cohesion, and youth development within the province. The event saw participation from eight teams, with CEG de Rogo and Lyc©e Priv© Mariam de Gourcy battling it out in the final.

The final match was a thrilling encounter, with both teams demonstrating strong performances. After a tense goalless first half, CEG de Rogo seized the opportunity in the second half, scoring two goals to secure victory and claim the trophy for this inaugural edition.

The event was overseen by the High Commissioner of the province of Zondoma, Aboubacar Sidiki Nab©, and the president of the special delegation of the commune of Gourcy, Bosso To© Kaba T©r©. They were joined by heads of decentralized services, education officials, security forces, as well as religious and traditional leaders, partners, and football enthusiasts who gathered to witness this significant sporting event.

In addition to the football final, the tournament also recognized winners in athletics disciplines, celebrating the diverse talents showcased during this inaugural event.
